Frito-Lay building teamwork through Home Repair project

Frito Lay and SAS project to help seniors Friday, May 14th was another community service day for employees from the Supply Chain Group of Frito Lay Headquarters in Plano. For the third year, members of this team coordinated a project with Rich Piper, Home Repair Specialist for Senior Adult Services (SAS), a non-profit that assists seniors and caregivers in Carrollton, Addison, Coppell and Farmers Branch.

Frito work day
SAS volunteers built a wheelchair ramp to improve mobility for one of the homeowners who suffered a broken hip last fall. This hard-working Frito-Lay group took care of projects the seniors in residence, both of whom have impaired mobility, cannot do for themselves. Thirty-eight volunteers repaired siding and then scraped, caulked, primed and painted the exterior of the home. They also tackled the debris in the backyard and cleared the fence-line. Frito-Lay employees have chosen to work with Senior Adult Services Home Repair program for their team building experiences. They like seeing the results of their efforts and knowing that they have made a difference in the community.
