Services

People recovering from an illness or surgery often need to use various pieces of durable medical equipment. Perhaps a friend or family member is visiting from out of town for a holiday, graduation or wedding and cannot transport all the items he or she will need during their visit.

Not only is it very expensive to purchase these items, but once someone is recovered or goes back home the equipment often sits in a garage or attic taking up space and gathering dust. SAS loans items such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, bedside commodes, and shower/transfer benches to people who live or work in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell or Farmers Branch for short-term use at no charge. Signatures from the user and the borrower are needed in order to loan out the equipment.

We also accept donations of gently used durable medical equipment. If you or someone you know has a piece of equipment that is no longer being used (see above list for items), we would be happy to receive it and put it back in use. Donations of incontinence supplies and nutritional supplement drinks are also welcomed.
