Book lovers of all ages ‘dog ear’ the first Friday and Saturday of each November for the annual Bookworm Bash held at the Addison’s Circle Pavilion. Avid reader and Town Manager, Ron Whitehead, was instrumental in establishing this fundraising event that benefits Senior Adult Services, a non-profit that serves seniors and caregivers in Carrollton, Addison, Coppell & Farmers Branch.
Thousands of books, DVD’s and CD’s are donated and then sorted by volunteers so that shoppers can easily find books both recently released, and those that are considered old friends. Collectors and buyers return year after year to join new shoppers as they browse the aisles looking for a certain author, or an out of print and hard to find treasure.
Free and open the public, the Bash always includes live entertainment and refreshments . It’s a terrific outing for the entire family and a great way to support a community based service organization.

Volunteers Isabel Anders, Gloria Davidchik, Marlene Koonce and Caroll Scott were invaluable in the planning and organization of this year's event, which raised over $6,000 for programs that benefit local seniors.
